Conference: MICROMOBILITY AND URBAN CARSHARING - NEW INSTRUMENTS FOR CLIMATE NEUTRALITY GOALS

Micro-mobility tools - like scooters, bicycles, e-scooters, etc. - and car-sharing have entered the daily lives of urban dwellers. Their use is growing rapidly. They are replacing private cars and serving climate neutrality objectives, which is important at a time when cities need to develop their own climate neutrality plans.

Latvia has gained first experience with these new transport solutions. It would therefore be reasonable to discuss with representatives of the state, local authorities and industry how to promote the development of these sectors, how to encourage user habits, how to keep road users safe, how to optimally integrate them into the overall transport and pedestrian flows of cities.

The participants will discuss the necessary improvements in legislation, the efficient use of European funds, the development of accessible infrastructure, the changes needed in tax regulations to integrate these services organically into a modern urban environment.
